Industry Week’s Competitions

One of the most awaited moments of our Annual Industry Week are our different competitions. Namely, the simulation, case, theoretical and the technical paper competitions. Each of them are different and challenging in their own way. 

Here is a brief summary of each one:

Simulation Competition: For students who had previously taken or are currently taking INDU311, this competition is great for proving and improving your simulation skills. Teams are presented with an engineering-related problem which students must solve; creating and presenting a simulation model of their own.

Case Competition: Presented with a business-related problem, students are required to show their solution to expert judges in the field. It is a great opportunity for showing and practicing your public speaking, leadership and teamwork skills.

Theoretical Exam: Using all the knowledge gathered from past INDU courses, join this competition for writing an open-book exam in teams. 

Technical paper: Show your technical writing skills and participate in this individual competition for learning more about a topic of your choice. A presentation of your paper will take place in front of various judges. You can even use a paper you've previously submitted for a course!

The winning teams from each competition will represent Concordia at the Annual IISE National Conference.
